What's going on...

Not much to post about these past couple of days. It's been pretty uneventful around here lately. And I am NOT complaining about that!

My sweet James buckled and let me get a membership to Hendrick health club. Man, I am addicted to that place!! It's the funnest place I have ever worked out! When I signed up I got a gym bag, Tshirt, water bottle, and a free shake! Yum!

Kaitlyn still ventures into our room in the middle of the night - every single night. I don't know why, but we just let her stay there. We talk about doing something about it, and say things like "This has got to stop." But the truth is, it doesn't really bother either one of us. If she feels safer, and warmer in our bed - then great. At least she STARTS in her own bed - right?! Someone validate my feelings here, please. Anyone?

She had a pretty hard day at school yesterday. Her note from her teacher was VERY long. She did not listen, scratched another kid and the teacher, had to sit in time out a couple of times, told the teacher no a few times - and I can't really remember what else. I don't know what that is all about. I just know that everytime I get notes like that I wish I wasn't working. Surely if I stayed home with her she would not act like that. It's hard for me to get notes like that. I want her to be the kid every teacher wants to have in their class! I don't know if that's a normal thought with moms or not. I can just tell when Kaitlyn just misses being at home and not doing anything.
Which leads me to my next topic....

Arbonne!! My good friend Meredith got me sucked into this. My ONLY motivation for doing this is the remote possiblitly that I could replace my income and stay home with Kaitlyn. I am getting really excited about it! She sent me one of Arbonne's product lines, and I'll be darned if this stuff doesn't really work!! I love it! And I am excited about telling other people about the opportunity. I'm having my "business launch/holiday party" in a couple of weeks. And I am most excited that Mere is coming to Abilene!! I am NOT into sales at all, so I am a little nervous about this venture, but something just keeps telling me to step out of my comfort zone and go for it. It just might pay off.

Kaitlyn took her first shower all by herself on Monday night. I was just getting her bath ready and she said, "No, I would like to take a shower like Mommy." Okay then. That was hilarious. She wanted the shower curtain closed and everything. It was pretty cute.

We are going to Lubbock tomorrow night for a good, long weekend in Lubbock. A friend from high school is getting married. I love going to weddings! Kaitlyn will love seeing Mam-ma, Pappy Neil and Belle. (The dog)

I have sneezed probably 37 times this morning, and my eyes are all puffy. I am NOT getting sick. I'm not. Go away right now!

Leslie-
I can SO relate to the coming into the room in the middle of the night thing. Mary Alice did that for the longest time. (Actually, she still does :) We tried everything to get her to stay in her own room. Then we finally just came to the realization that this was just a stage we were going through.
It doesn't really matter if she needs the security of coming into your room at night, does it? She won't do it forever. We've always been like you, as long as she starts out in her own room, it is perfectly okay with us if MA comes in during the night. We don't like her in our bed (only because we have a full and it is NOT cozy with three people in it), so we lay out a sleeping bag beside our bed. She is allowed to come in any night she wants to. She comes in some weeks more than others, just depending on her mood. All that to say- I think you guys are doing the right thing. There is probably a reason that she is coming in whether she is scared or just wants to be around you guys. I think kids just need the security of their parents' company sometimes. I just wanted you to know that I think you are doing a great job with Kaitlyn. Who cares if she doesn't spend the whole night in her own bed?
Also... I was on the phone with Becky (Clark) Cave yesterday. She told me that she is doing Arbonne and has almost matched what she was making teaching. She hasn't been doing it that long. Hope that is encouraging. She lives in Weatherford. I'm sure she could give you some tips too.
Is this post long enough for you? Sorry. Your sleep issue struggles really touched my heart.

If Macy Pope Missildine can do Arbonne so can yoU! Man, that girl has already replaced her private school teacher income plus more! Her cousin has a the white BMW and has also bought her husband a hummer! You need to email Macy!!!!!!!! I'll give her your email address...just so you can hear her story...although I know your under Meredith.

Amber - Thank you sooo much for that comment. Coming from you - someone I truly look up to as a mom, that means a lot. (And I just talked to Becky about Arbonne a couple of days ago!)

Molls - That is awesome! I have heard a little bit of her story through Meredith.. that is very encouraging!

Good luck on your new business venture (or adventure???)!

I think you are fine with Kaitlyn coming in to your room...and Amber's sleeping bag idea is a good one. Sam can be quite a bed hog when he does this, so I might have to try the sleeping bag option out!

I had never even heard of Arbonne until Darby mentioned it a couple months ago. I, for one, want to know more. I also want to know more about Hendrick because I need to get my big old hiny up and start exercising! Please motivate me!!! I love that Kaitlyn is taking showers like her mommy!

The shower thing is so cute. You're such a good mommy and example to Kaitlyn - no wonder she wants to be just like you! You know what's best for her and you're doing an awesome job!

Ok, I think I am the only person on the planet who has not heard of Arbonne......I obviously do not get out enough! But if selling it means you can stay home and play with your baby girl all day, then I say go for it!

PS: I am so jealous of your fun Hendrick membership!

PS: You know you guys are ALWAYS welcome up here.....perhaps a spring 2006 family vacation!?!?

Wow Leslie, you are really a dork for having one of these (mine is at www.stephenandhollie.com ). Anyway, as a behavior specialist, i do have to tell you that everything your child is doing as far as misbehavior goes is 100% your fault. It probably has something to do with the fact that you let her sleep in your bed. I recommend you getting help asap. If you need a good therapist to work with you, I am fairly affordable, just let me know.

peace out,

stephen b.
