Concert, weekend....

Kelly Clarkson was awesome! Granted, this was my very first concert to go to - but I thought it was GREAT! She is very good live - and really fun to watch. We had a blast singing along with all of her current songs - and hearing some new ones that she will release in February - yay!

The rest of the weekend we got to spend with James' family in Dallas. Saturday we took Kaitlyn to Sandy Lake park which is a mini amusement park. It was fun to go there with James because he used to go there when he was growing up. Kaitlyn was fearless as usual, and enjoyed riding all of the little roller coasters. It wasn't crowded at all, so was the only one riding a lot of the rides. She really had a blast. It was really hot - but thankfully, this place even had a huge pool! We cooled off in that for awhile before heading back to Nana and Papaw's house. Sunday we just relaxed around the house, played games, took naps.. then headed home!

We'll end this blog with a picture of Kaitlyn and her "lizard" that she caught a few days ago. She was so excited about holding it, and she CRIED HER EYES OUT when we had to let it go outside. She said she just wanted to keep it forever. I'm sure, unfortunately, we'll find another one in or around our house soon enough....

Never mind. Uggghhhh. I'm done with blogger.

I'm still jealous that you got to see my friend Kelly. I didn't know she cut her hair! I guess she forgot to tell me when we talked last.

So fun! We used to go to Sandy Lake in middle school for band competitions (cool..I know!) We always had so much fun!

And Kelly...I am so jealous! There has never been and probably never will be another "Idol" like her! (But I'll keep watching just to make sure!)

apparantly you sat closer to the stage than us, and away from the 15 man gay/shirtless makeout fest that lasted the length of the entire concert.

It sounds like a fun concert and a great week-end! I think Kaitlyn and I must be kindred spirits when it comes to reptiles. I was forever catching lizards when I was a kid and had quite a few as pets. I would have wanted to keep it forever too:)

I'm so jealous!! Kelly looks so cute with her hair like that. I'm glad the concert lived up to the expectations! I wish I could have been there.

And, as Cortni said, our family has a LONG history with Sandy Lake Park. I pass the exit for it all the time and wonder what it looks like now. Good to know it's still thrilling little ones!!

THAT WAS YOUR FIRST CONCERT??? We should have been friends in high school. I was sneaking out to late night concerts in Deep Ellum all the time. I guess you were a good little girl out there in Lubbock. Glad she was awesome though!

I love Kelly Clarkson.

Seriously, your FIRST concert EVER? Girl. Guess I was a little more like Julie. :) My high school friends were more the Billy Bob's type, so name a country artist, and I've seen 'em. Rach and I are going to see Dave Matthews for like the 8th time in a couple of weeks.

SANDY LAKE! I'm with Cortni - we went to jr high band competitions there every year. SO fun. I'm cool.

Sounds like so much fun -- Kelly Clarkson has been one of my favorite people since she was on American Idol. I read that the concert exceeded expectations in the Dallas Morning News last weekend.

As for the lizards...Kaitlyn is welcome to visit our house and be sure to catch a gecko. We now have a "family" of them that lives in our yard...not sure if they really are family, but Sam seems to think they are. However, he only names them boy names (Harry, Benny, etc.), so it may be a little bit different kind of family! ;)
